"Hot"

Hay solamente una palabra que verdaderamente puede encapsular el tema de hoy: calor.  La ciudad de Buenos Aires es un horno y somos todos empanadas quemándonos dentro de ello.  Llegamos por la mañana a nuestro departamento palermense (Gutierrez y La Republic de la India) a pesar de unos pickets y dos horas de viaje desde Ezezia.  Menos mal que tenemos aire acondicionado, una ducha con agua fría y una botella grande de "Bombay Blue Saphire Gin".  Solo nos cuesta encontrar agua tónico y unos cubitos de hielo bien refrescantes…

Hice un error grave en visitar el cono sur durante pleno verano… Cierto que no.  Es solamente una aventura sin gorros y bufandas.

The only word that can truly describe today is: heat.  The city of Buenos Aires is an oven and we are empanadas (meat pies) burning inside it.  We arrived this morning at our apartment in Palermo (between Gutierrez Street and Republic of India) in spite of protests (pickets) and two hours of travel from Ezeizia.  At least we have air conditioning, a shower with cold water and a big bottle of "Bombay Blue Saphire Gin".   It is just difficult to find tonic water and a few nice and refreshing ice cubes…

Did I make a mistake in coming to the southern hemisphere in the middle of summer… Absolutely not.  It is just an adventure without caps and scarves.
